This conference is the third in a series following the successful
Conformity Assessment Conferences held in October 2007 and October
2008. With this follow-on conference we expand the topics to cover a
broader range of market sectors and interests.
Opportunity:
Vietnam’s path to growth is sustained and the development of a free
market has created a vibrant economy with stunning GDP growth.
Effects of this growth have caused tremendous pressures on resources
and a degradation of the environment. As a key member of the
Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), Vietnam presents
U.S. companies and service providers with tremendous opportunities
to address these issues and offers a potential regional base in
ASEAN. To develop these opportunities, it is critical to understand
and engage Vietnam and to foster holistic solutions through
public-private partnerships, encourage development of technologies
and methods that will help the greater region.
Mission and Goal:
The objective of this forum is to promote and further ties and U.S.
linkage on industry, policy and regulatory levels and to actively
seek the implementation of successful U.S. methods into the
Vietnamese environmental protection processes. Our long-term
goal is to help favorably enhance U.S. engagement and trade by
expanding participation in these areas and help the development of
Vietnamese processes that align with U.S. and international
practice.
Stakeholders:
The stakeholders in the conference are a mix of private sector,
academic, association, government and nongovernmental organizations.
The private sector and associations provide subject matter experts
and promotion of this event. The government sector provides
endorsements and support in the U.S. and in Vietnam.
