  • An Overview of Safety Standards for the US Solar Photovoltaic Industry

  • Electrical Equipment Design for Energy Efficiency

This conference is the second in a series following the successful Conformity Assessment Conference held in October 2007. See http://www.atcb.com/news.htm. With this follow-on conference we expand the topics to cover a broader range of market sectors and interests.

Opportunity: Vietnam’s path to growth is sustained. The development of free market has created a vibrant economy with stunning GDP growth. As a key member of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), one path for US companies and service providers to engage that vast market is through Vietnam. To develop and understand this access, it is critical to understand and engage Vietnam and to foster and encourage development of a transparent process.

The time to develop a fundamental standards-based infrastructure is now

Mission and Goal: The objective is to promote and further trade ties and US linkage on industry and regulatory levels and to actively seek the implementation of US standards and methods into the emerging Vietnamese market.  The environment for US commerce and trade is favorably enhanced by expanding US engagement in the product and conformity assessment arena and by helping the development of Vietnamese standards and processes that align with US and international practice.

Stakeholders:  The stakeholders in the conference are a mix of private sector, association and government organizations. The private sector and associations provide subject matter experts and promotion of this event. The government sector provides endorsements and support in the US and in Vietnam.

Organization

This conference is organized to provide maximum benefit to the attendees, focused on specific user instruction and orientation on developing product sectors in the Vietnamese economy. The conference will convene with a general session in the morning. After the plenary session, Track Sponsors will convene individual sessions focusing on the specific topics of interest.
